Here in New England, harsh weather is all a part of life. The end of last week and into the weekend we got hit with an ice storm that felled many trees and branches and cut the power on hundreds of thousands of homes. As I am writing this now (Mon) there are many still out of power.
Driving down the street, there is Evergreen Cemetery Nashua, NH, Intersection of Main Street & E. Dunstable Road. Near the beginning of the cemetery is a large tree that has sustained damage in this last storm. I stopped in today to check it out. Luckily there seemed to be no damage to the stones despite large branched driven deep into the ground all around. The largest monument holds up a large section but it looked ok. Lucky Mr. Lund. (Well, as lucky as you can be while dead)
I wonder how long it will take for it to be claned up and cleared. My room mate and I removed a few branches while we were there. How long will it take for someone to care, for someone to notice (How could they not). It’s too bad that regular people with a few moments to spare don’t rally around the community anymore and get things done. Trees in the road would warm houses still without power and then traffic could pass.
